Andrea Rowan is a contemporary realist painter who lives and works in Connecticut. Born into, and raised by, an active equine family in Connecticut, Andrea has developed her own visual vocabulary and inimitable style. Andrea has travelled extensively whilst taking up residences in New York City, Taos and Sausalito. Andrea’s distinctive personal style emanates joy and peace and expresses her vibrant spirit. Andrea’s 25-year career as an accomplished Visual Merchandiser brings an extensive mastery of color theory, innate sense of rhythm, and compositional elements to each painting. Through her perspective we gain a new experience and emotional effect evoked by her manipulation of line and color. In addition to her paintings, Andrea designs mosaic art which has been utilized as art pieces in interior design and home accessories. Andrea’s mosaics are hand crafted using stained glass and tile pieces which she creates with a keen aesthetic eye and understanding of color and modern interior design. Andrea was formally trained at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York city, and throughout her career has designed handmade women’s accessories, which combine her talents and incredible sense of style into desirable individual works of art.
